Spirituality & Mental Health
The SRS Family foundation supports initiatives that focus on spirituality as well as programming that focuses on promoting youth mental health more broadly.
Spirituality has long been a source of comfort and relief from stress for multitudes of people. Research has shown that those who are more spiritual, whether through religion or otherwise, utilize their spirituality to cope with life's challenges and often experience various benefits to their overall health and well-being.
At the SRS Family Foundation, we do not define spirituality by any single path or belief system. Spirituality is practiced daily when we ask deep questions about topics such as suffering or what happens after death, deepen our connections with our loved ones and communities, and take actions to make the world a better place. For some people, it's the belief in a higher power or a specific religious practice and for others, it’s a sense of connection to a higher state or a sense of interconnectedness with the rest of humanity and nature or simply the act of seeking meaning and purpose in their lives.
